What is DHT?
DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) is derived from testosterone, which is present in both men and women. Men typically have more testosterone and about 10 percent of this in most adults converts to DHT. Once DHT flows freely through your bloodstream, it can then link to receptors in the hair follicles in your scalp, causing them to shrink and become less capable of supporting healthy hair.
DHT and hair loss:
Hair within a follicle goes through a growth cycle which lasts about 2-6 years. When this cycle ends, your hair enters a resting phase before falling out a few months later. The follicle produces a new hair and the cycle begins again.
High levels of DHT can shrink hair follicles as well as shorten this cycle, causing hair to grow thinner and more brittle, as well as fall out faster. DHT can also make it take longer for your follicles to grow new hairs.
Why DHT affects people differently:
Your proclivity to hair loss is down to genetics, meaning it runs in the family. For example if your father experienced male pattern balding, it's likely you'll show similar traits. If you're already inclined to male pattern baldness, the follicle shrinking effect of DHT tends to be more pronounced. The size and shape of your head can also contribute to how quickly DHT shrinks follicles.
By using Watermans products, you're providing your scalp and hair with the carefully selected ingredients, which help block DHT and potentially reduce the effects is has on the follicles, follicles that lose hair through DHT can start to die after two years this can result in no chance of future regrowth.
How do I use Watermans Products for best results?
GrowMe Shampoo and ConditionMe Conditioner:
For best results, wash and condition your hair 4-5 times a week, each time massaging to stimulate the follicles and leaving the product on your hair for 3-4 minutes. This is essential for the formula to work. You only need a small amount the size of a Quarter coin of shampoo and a good blob of conditioner. Comb the conditioner through to the ends of your hair before rinsing, ideally you should wash twice and condition once for best results.
Directions for deep conditioning treatments:
For a Deep conditioning treatment apply conditioner and cover hair with a plastic cap or towel. Keep on hair for 15 – 20 minutes. Remove cap or towel and rinse thoroughly.
If you are feeling itchy or a tingling sensation this is normal as it's the increased blood flow on your scalp reinvigorates dormant hair follicles.
GrowMore Elixir:
This is a scalp only treatment and is not to be applied to your hair, To be used as often as you wish in between washes and is twice as strong as the shampoo. It is a leave-in no rinse serum which boosts the effects of the shampoo and conditioner for faster results. Just apply and massage directly to your scalp and not through the lengths of your hair. Perfect for if you don't wash your hair too often. Ideally applied just before bed.
InstaHair Fibres:
To be used on dry hair. Style your hair and shake the hair fibres lightly over the thinning areas you want to disguise until completely covered. Gently pat hair to disperse fibres and lock in place with hairspray.
Due to the fibres being statically charged they're resistant to wind, rain and perspiration

Can I use on coloured hair? Will it fade quicker?
Yes our products can be used on dyed hair, our products will only ever fade hair if you have had it pre-lightened underneath your colour at some point, this usually happens when the cuticle opens to release the colour, which hot water can do also. Try keeping your water a little cooler when rinsing to close the cuticle and trap the colour inside the hair shaft.

Are Watermans products safe to use with hair extentions?
Our products can be used on 100% remy hair keratin bonded extensions, but they haven't been tested for any other methods. Most people these days wear extensions because their hair isn't long enough. Use our products to help your hair grow longer and stronger, so you may not need extensions at all in the future.
I still seem to be losing hair, is this normal?
Yes it is. Hair has a three stage growth cycle, anagen, catagen, and telagen. When your hair hits the telagen cycle it will start to shed, as a new hair is preparing to grow in the follicle. When you start using our shampoo it releases all of the hairs that are in and approaching the telagen stage, so over the first few weeks you'll lose hair that you were going to lose naturally anyway. Don’t worry it is perfectly natural, a bit like weeding the garden.
